It’s been quite a month

November 26th, 2006 by izone

It’s been quite a month. My band just got a recording contract deal for 2 years with Death Star Productions that is based in KL and UK for a single album including 2 video clips. It was a blessing actually to be having this opportunity. It seems time for me to begin to expand my music. The best would be the tour in the UK, Germany, Norway and Estonia that would happen few months after the release of our first album expected to be released mid next year. In fact, it is pretty funny that this opportunity came in rolling without anyone knowing it coming. We’ve found ourself a director for one of the MTVs and his repertoire and credibility are excellent. Imagine computer animations and live motion integrated into one. That’s his idea for one of the clips but we must wait for the story board to be up first to get the bigger picture. Our first scheduled show under Death Star Productions will happen on the 27th January 2006 at Berjaya Times Square in conjunction with Peace Malaysia gig and the release of the new album from Pure Vibracion (a reggae band under Death Star Productions). We expect the gig to be a great experience for us. Seems like it’s PAKU’s luck. Alright guys…will update you guys on PAKU and its journey through the life outside of underground.

When A Man Loves A Woman

September 4th, 2006 by izone

I have always been fascinated by this lyrics and I find it to be very true. A man in love would do unrational things that no one can understand except for himself. Like what the lyrics stated - "loving eyes can’t ever see".

Artist: Percy Sledge

Song: When A Man Loves A Woman

When a man loves a woman Can’t keep his mind on nothing else He’ll trade the world For the good thing he’s found

If she’s bad he can’t see it She can do no wrong Turn his back on his best friend If he put her down

When a man loves a woman Spend his very last dime Tryin’ to hold on to what he needs

He’d give up all his comfort Sleep out in the rain If she said that’s the way it ought to be

Well, this man loves a woman I gave you everything I had Tryin’ to hold on to your precious love Baby, please don’t treat me bad

When a man loves a woman Down deep in his soul She can bring him such misery

If she plays him for a fool He’s the last one to know Lovin’ eyes can’t ever see

When a man loves a woman He can do no wrong He can never own some other girl

Yes when a man loves a woman I know exactly how he feels ‘Cause baby, baby, baby, you’re my world When a man loves a woman…..

“Nothing lasts forever” - Connor McLeod

I find it pretty funny to be in a position where everything is just blank. I am blank myself right now. Is it because of fatigue or just a blob of emotions rolled into one coming in and I don’t have an inkling about it? Beats me. Seeing someone that you care for is a real "colourful" experience, when you still have the time before your life ends. Nah, I am not being melancholic and in addition to that I am hopelessly romantic. Only that being a victim of circumstances can be very peculiar….correction….blessed victim. Trivial question - how does it feel like to be sandwiched and stuck in between? Hmmmm…let me figure it out…..thinking……still thinking………..guessing………..aaaaahhh I got it! Wait no……………..eeeeeeehhh…….well why bother? Pointless it seems.

The main fact would be that I’d better fill in the emptiness in the soul with colours of the world before my time runs out. By the way in the words of Connor McLeod aka Highlander —————-> "Nothing lasts forever"

Here’s another sunday morning call, you hear your head now banging on the door,

slip your shoes on and then out you crawl into a day that couldn’t give you more, but what for?

And in your head do you feel what you’re not supposed to feel?

And you take what you want but you won’t get it for free

And you need more time cause your thoughts and words won’t last forever more

But I am not sure if it’ll ever work out right

But it’s alright…it’s okay

When you’re lonely and you start to hear little voices banging in your head

You will only sniff away the tears

So you can dance until the morning light

At what price?

Demi waktu

August 5th, 2006 by izone

Maafkan aku..

I am so sick of so called “musicians” yang rasa hebat

July 29th, 2006 by izone

Just writing this blog out of pissed and sad for those who does not KNOW what the heck is music. Music - noun 1 the art of combining vocal or instrumental sounds in a pleasing way. 2 the sound so produced. 3 the written or printed signs representing such sound (extracted from Oxford Compact Dictionary). End of story. But some people they like to think certain genres as CRAPS or NOT COOL or NOT RUGGED or NO STYLE. That’s totally bullsh*t. Some guys may think that good music must be really heavy and the totally rare songs. These guys even though they can play music well but take this from me - you don’t even know what’s the meaning of music! Nothing! Try to come up with a nice melody and see. I don’t understand why everybody is so prone to a particular instrument in a song (e.g. a shredding guitarist would always look at the guitar scalings in the song and would call it cool if there were lots of shreddings in it). Hahahaha that makes me laugh. You can play like Mammstein for all I care but if the songs were not arranged properly, the sound not tight enough or not even melodic to even stay in the brain for an impulse…then sorry babe. Take your freakin’ tatoos and bungkus tikar lah. Oh you can’t read music? Hahahahah jadilah pemuzik jalanan. Not being able to read music but playing good is like you’re good with speeches but you can’t read. You’ll be stuck to a particular style without even having the ability to branch out. It’s like you know how to cook nasi lemak very very well but you can’t cook other than nasi lemak. Eat nasi lemak lah you the whole year through. Hahahaha…no offense guys (for those who don’t read music). I started off as a person who can’t read a single shite note. But then I took the time of learning up and the best part is…it makes me clearer about the whole theory of music and I realized there are so many things and melody that you can come up with provided with the proper inspiration. Kalau tak pandai bab bab macam ni, then jangan fikir diri tu dah otai gila. Like I said…you’ll be stucked to that level and ONLY that level. Macam sampai belajar PMR dah ingat very good. You’ll stay there with only PMR qualification when ada banyak lagi halangan…SPM, STPM, Degree, MSc, Phd, Honorary Doctrate etc. Come on man! Just because these people can’t come up with good tunes, they only look at their guitar playing and think that playing fast and heavy is cool. But then again, what happens to tone and sound balance? Oh yeah…stage presence. You will stay indie forever like that without reaching out the labels or the market. The Beatles came up with simple basic tunes (bloody major and minor chords only), Oasis too (you have to admit that they were the King of the 90s), Queen (like Freddie said "I am more to Liza Minelli rather than Led Zeppelin" - hahahah the greatest vocalist of all time for the greatest rock & roll band said that). Jazz hebat gila mah, improvisation siot, tak ramai orang boleh main tapi mat rock semua ingat boring (tak leh main janganlah cover malu plak…no offense I am more prone to rock myself but the difference is that I don’t look down on other genres). Britney Spears pun diorang boleh kutuk tapi kalau dia nak kahwin dengan diorang meleleh air liur sambil lidah terkeluar dari mulut hek eleh! They remained indie and underground because they did not have the X factor for selling their music or great tunes. That’s why they sticked there. Some indie and underground bands…I really respect them cause of keeping their genre and style that they don’t want to sell themselves to the producers that kept on saying "oh you change this and this and this". It’s okay to do that…if you know your music very well along with theories and stuffs. Otherwise, you guys are just high on cracks and being delusional. Sorry for writing this crap at 6 am. Just that I hate it when people like to categorize themselves as the "Greats" and kicked everyone out as outliers when it is actually vice versa. Morale of the story: Sebelum makan and kata makanan tu sedap, masuk dapur dia dulu dan check recipe dia. Kot-kot lah dimasukkan bahan-bahan adunan yang boleh membuatkan kita rasa nak muntah. Cheerios!

Kick-as* night and show!!!

Just got back from an acoustic gig in Church Street. It’s freaking 3 am and I am feeling fatigue and restless. Pretty much rock. We were given the task to sing cover songs by the place’s owner. At the same time, we managed to fit in our own original songs hahahah talk about being "poyo". Funny that most of the songs that came up are songs that either long time I have never heard or sang (more than 5 years I guess. For instance, the song MY OWN WORST ENEMY by Lit…holy crap. That song was awesome when the first I heard it at the Kafeteria Gemilang right the last day when I just finished my Maths paper during my Matriculation year in USM. It was on TV (the MTV)….the band members were walking into the bowling alley with style and arrogance. Guess what? I freakin sang the song again today! Shucks..7 years dude! Whoa my goodness and weird enough that I can still remember the lyrics. Used to carry their album in a tape version (that time boh lui to get CD yet) and listen to it in the car intensely when my late dad used to drive me around. Talk about the chauffer that can stand alternative rock music eh? Plus, this one Aussie mate from Sydney by the name of Michael requested Shimmer by Fuel and Slide by Goo Goo Dolls. Oh man, this dude rocks! Sang those songs with all my lungs out! Also some nice songs from the Rolling Stones (Jumping Jack Flash to name a few), Queen, David Bowie, Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Nine Inch Nails, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc. Oh yeah, Peterpan pun ada hahahahahah alah bantai only mah. The crowd was packed, the vibe was great. To summarize this whole blog up….I AM GETTING OLDER! THAT SONG BY LIT….7 YEARS HAS PASSED. Oh my oh my…I am going to get old soon and I don’t want to grow old. I want to stay as old as how I am right now. That’s the wonderful about time. It spins and nobody can stop it from spinning. Einstein and his theory of relativity…bah! Too bad that he’s dead or else maybe he can be the man that controls the time. Huh? What the heck am I blabbering about? Oh well….cheers mate….to getting old and being progressive kah kah kah!!!

What the…?!

  • What I seek from life? A truly unnoticed, corny, disturbing and ignored question. Hmmm…I don’t know what to say nor think at this very moment (except that it’s freaking 2:30 am and I am not yet asleep to prepare for tomorrow’s early meeting!). Anyway, I tried to analyze and gave a very deep thought for the past 10 minutes or so. I know, I know…I may sound like complaining too much and not being thankful enough for what I have but there’s this one part…incomplete (nothing to do with Backstreet Boys thank you). Bloody hell, what in the name of Bush issit??? I guess that’s the reason for the loittering around and prowling in the middle of the night after work (even weekends hahaha). So far…no freakin’ idea!!! What the heck am I trying to accomplish? What am I trying to prove? In short….what AM I DOING?! AAAARRGGGHHH….no, no, no…I don’t have any bipolar disorder (any shrink can tell you that for sure). Just that, ironically, I am trying my best to do all the things that I can before I get older or die and trying to push myself to the limit (I fear that one day I might fall over the edge). Everything is still under control (thank God for that). Eeeehh…maybe I am just too expressive and animatic? Is there anything to describe it for the lack of better word? I guess I will keep on searching tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and the days to come.

The search for Mr Spock…Star Trek 3! Hahahahahahahahahahahha

Beam me up Scottie!

SHATTERED (new single by PAKU)

Living like yesterday can break a man’s heart to pieces, I’m shattered, scattered away I’ll say, maybe I will never be the kind that you would want to see when I’m shattered, scattered away, but I’ll try, I’ll try to make it right…

Been living like a superstar, never cared for anyone that crossed my mind, I said too many things too many times, never cared for anyone that I just might find, might find,

Living like yesterday can break a man’s heart to pieces, I’m shattered, scattered away I’ll say, maybe I will never be the kind that you would want to see when I’m shattered, scattered away, but I’ll try, I’ll try to make it right…

Singing many tunes that just can’t rhyme, never cared for anyone that spares a dime, I said too many things too many times, never cared for everyone when the sun don’t shine…don’t shine,

Living like yesterday can break a man’s heart to pieces, I’m shattered, scattered away I’ll say, maybe I will never be the kind that you would want to see when I’m shattered, scattered away, but I’ll try, I’ll try to make it right…

Living like yesterday can break a man’s heart to pieces, I’m shattered, scattered away I’ll say, maybe I will never be the kind that you would want to see when I’m shattered, scattered away, but I’ll try, I’ll try to make it right…and I’ll try, but I’ll never make it right….so I’ll try, I don’t wanna make it right…
